Day 03 - Song that makes you happy

Hmmm, this was actually a hard one. I feel that having music available makes me happy about life, but I tend to prefer the more melancholy music for some reason.
But I did find one.... )

I may add more if more strikes me in this category!

Day 02 - Your least favourite song

Day two isn't quite as fun because - who wants to dwell on a least favorite song???

But, I get to rant a bit, too!

The song I hate, can't stand, makes me nauseous is...

Warning, it's a song and band people seem to love but I don't!!!! )

Saddest Song Ever

Hollie Smith - "Fallen Flowers"

...
If I could roll back the years
If I could see through these tears
If I could face all of my fears

And, if I could live my life again
If I could call the world my friend
If I could write the story's end...I would

I'd live a thousand years of pain
Just to hold you once...again.

It's funny that I have my complete music playlist of over 4000 songs on shuffle right now and every single song is so fitting. How can that be? I have a lot of happy tunes, I swear. o_0

Melanie C - "Ga Ga"
Carlene Carter - "Long Hard Fall"
Roxette - "It Must've Been Love (But It's Over Now)"
Fauxliage - "All the World"
Roxette - "Fading Like A Flower (Everytime You Leave)"
Laava - "Wherever You Are" ( a DDR song )
Sylver - "Drowning In My Tears"
Brandy - "Almost Doesn't Count"
Martina McBride - "Independence Day"
Olive - "Liberty"

Tina Cousins - "Killing Time"
If I could get over you
then I could get away from here
it's such a lonely place
I only have myself to blame
and if I make it through
the wasteland of my mind
maybe then I'll find a way
to find a brighter day

But I'm just killin' time
since you went away
all I have are memories
and every day they fade
I'm the love you didn't want
the love you couldn't reach
I reminisce on every kiss
and I'm just killin' time

Alan Parsons Project - "If I Could Change Your Mind"
Martina McBride - "The Time Has Come"
REO Speedwagon - "In My Dreams"
Daybreak is a joyful time
Just listen to the songbird harmonies, oh the harmonies
But I wish the dawn would never come
I wish there was silence in the trees, oh the trees If only I could stay asleep, at least I could pretend you're thinkin' of me
'Cause night time is the one time I am happy, you see in my dreams

Fauxliage - "All the World"

This is a gorgeous tune. It's produced by the crew that produces Delerium. The vocals are by the lead vocalist from Sixpence None the Richer - Leigh Nash. It's very fitting to me right now.

I'll break you down
I'll take you down, down
Fill you with sadness
Make your life madness

I'm having a hard time
I'm making you do the hard time too.
I'm stuck in a bad way
And I'm gonna make you pay for it.

Give me a mile
I'll take a hundred miles
Such a mistake
Sorry you make

I'm having a hard time
I'm making you do the hard time too
I'm stuck in a bad way
And I'm gonna make you pay for it.

I'm having a hard time
I'm making you do the hard time too.
I'm stuck in a bad way
And I'm gonna make you pay for it.

I'm having a hard time
I'm making you do the hard time too.
I'm stuck in a bad way
And I'm gonna make you pay for it.

I know you're here
I know you're gone
I never asked you to stay
I'm waking up, baby
Now tell me, are you ok?

Song

Tracy Chapman - "Change"

If you knew that you would die today,
If you saw the face of God and Love,
Would you change? Would you change?

If you knew that love can break your heart,
If you're down so low you cannot fall,
Would you change? Would you change?

How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses, how much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?
Makes you turn around, makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget, makes you change?

If you knew that you would be alone,
Knowing right and being wrong,
Would you change? Would you change?

If you knew that you had found a truth,
That brings up pain that can't be soothed,
Would you change? Would you change?

How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses, how much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?
Makes you turn around, makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget, makes you change?

Are you so upright you can't be bent?
If it comes to blows are you so sure you won't be crawling?
If it's not for the good, why risk falling?
Why risk falling?

If everything you think you know,
Makes your life unbearable,
Would you change? Would you change?

If you've broken every rule and vow
And hard times come to bring you down,
Would you change? Would you change?

If you knew that you would die today,
If you saw the face of God and Love,
Would you change? Would you change?

How's that for appropriate?

Because I have no original thoughts of my own... )

car key
You're a car key, and not only do you unlock the
car, you help everyone get where they're going.
Important to many but often misplaced, you have
something to offer that everyone wants. Just be
sure you don't let yourself become nothing more
than a means to an end.

What sort of key are you and what do you unlock?

Announcement DSR Fans!

Courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] foxytime and [livejournal.com profile] teso, there is a great event for Doggett/Scully and Follmer/Reyes fans...

DSR/FRR Awareness Month begins today!
Hey all!

Make sure to jump on over to The Love Shack Forum to take part in this month's DSR/FRR Awareness Month. All discussions outlined in the The Love Shack will take place in the Awareness Month folder at TLSF.

Make sure to check out The Love Shack, The Love Shack Forum, and You Know I'm On Your Side for the latest information on Awareness Month :)

All through this month there will be collage and fanfic challenges, and DSR/FRR focused episode discussions (you can check the schedule to see what episodes will be talked about at The Love Shack Forum).

Guests can post inside the Awareness Month folder only, if you decide not to register and just post as a guest, make sure when you reply to a post that you use the "quote" button rather than the "add reply" button, that's how the forum is set up to allow guests to reply to posts. As a guest you can also start a new topic.

Everyone is welcome to join in on discussions and challenges whether or not you like or support Doggett/Scully or Follmer/Reyes, the point of Awareness Month is to try to open the eyes of non-fans to DSR and FRR, to open minds to more possibilities other than what is considered more mainstream within the X-Files fandom in terms of XF relationship pairings.

I hope to see you all there! I'll be checking my email after I get off work today to see if any new registrations have been made at The Love Shack Forum - I have it set up where an admin has to validate new registrations before you can post (if you all know the history with OBSESSED, you know why).

Happy DSR/FRR Awareness Day!

Sue says: Come participate and spread the word!

Randomness

I keep thinking of things to write and never write them.

The day I hooked up my Firewire/USB PCI card, it didn't work. I tried a bunch of drivers and stuff and... nothing. So I was fed up and went to Best Buy to pick one up. THAT one needed a power connection, so I had to buy a splitter, too.
But while I was there I picked up Without A Trace Season One!!! Coolness. I began watching where I left off from the rentals, and Tom joined in on an episode. He likes it a lot. Now he wants to start over from the beginning. :D Yay!
I have to say I love all the characters. I love Jack and Sam the best. Vivian is awesome. And out of the two pretty boys, Danny is growing on me. :D

I have an orientation and tour of the University of Minnesota campus on Friday. I'm excited! More brain powah!!! Muahahahaha

I watched "Supersize Me" on DVD this weekend. What a great film! It was very interesting and entertaining. And the DVD has a ton of great extras. Everyone should watch it. It should be required viewing in schools. Seriously.

I'm getting better at the violin. I can play eighth notes now. I can sight-read pretty good. I tried a little third position, even though I'm not technically up to that point in my instruction books. I even can belt out a few tunes from Ray's cello. I still have a slow time reading a bass clef, though. I have to buy some music stands and instrument stands. Desperately they are needed.

oh GLEE!!!!!!!! DVD concert of Dido is available and on AUGUST 9th - DVD RELEASE OF CHRIS ISAAK AND RAUL MALO!!!!!!!!! Sweeeeeeeeet!
Raul Malo was in The Mavericks and did many a backup for Trisha Yearwood. I LOVE his voice. I am sooooo getting this.

Putting the finishing touches on FRR video.

Um.... I'm tired? Yep. I'm offically tired. 'Night!

Care Bear Quiz Thingy

Bedtime Bear
You are usually asleep on the job but that's okay because your job is to make sure everyone gets enough sleep! You're shy and sweet...when you are actually awake! Getting sleepy already?

I never was a fan of Care Bears. I think I had one, but I didn't pay it any attention. I think I had birthday bear....not sure. I didn't like the cartoon. My favorite cartoons were Voltron, Dungeons and Dragons, Bugs Bunny, Muppet Babies, and Pink Panther. I loved My Little Pony toys but I hated the cartoon. I didn't like Rainbow Brite or anything like that. I tended to gravitate towards the boy stuff more than the girl stuff - like I'd rather watch Transformers and He-Man than the 'girly' shows.

The Twinkies Won!!!

The Twins beat the Angels 4 to 2. It was a good game. It's fun to go there and check them out once in a while. We had good seats in the lower section near the 3rd base line (Season tix from work). It's so much more fun when you can see the action. So we celebrated by having some Twinkies in honor of the Twinkies.
What I didn't like was the advertising for a new ball field for the Twins. I'm so tired of the bitching and whining about new stadiums and ball fields by our two teams, the Twins and the Vikings, who don't seem to win much anyway. Secondly, I don't understand why it's such a big deal. I mean, yes, when it is nice here in Minnesota (the whole 3 days a year it usually turns out), it would be nice to catch a baseball game. But we have The Saints and smaller leagues aplenty. We built the Metrodome that everyone wanted so badly back in the day. I remember quite well, when I was about Ray's age, going to a Twins game at the old Met stadium in Bloomington (it had no roof - removable or otherwise). IT WAS FUCKING COLD AND RAINY. That's what I took away from that experience. Just like tonight, it's freaking 40 degrees out and raining - do you think I'm going to sit and watch the Twins in that kind of weather? Do they really think a lot of people would? Are they on crack??? Sure, the stands would be packed the two days a year that are nice and fall on a home game. But the rest of the year it would suck ass for the spectators. Hence, the reason we built the dome. That place is so nice. Always perfect temperature and dry and smoke-free. People just need something to bitch about. Professional teams need to whine about money and blame their bad playing on artificial turf. Shut the fug up.
As you can see, I don't support such a cause.

Dude - I got a flash version of the 2002 Budweiser Clydesdale commercial that had the horses bowing to ground zero of the World Trade Center after 9-11. Have you all seen that commercial? It's so touching, I cry everytime. I now have a copy of it to keep. I love it. The freaking idiotic thing is, it didn't play on the air long because people complained that horses weren't good enough to show respect to the World Trade Center. WTF?? I don't understand that at all. It's the most touching thing I've seen. If anyone wants to see it, I can upload it to share. You need to have Macromedia Flash installed as a plugin in your Explorer to view it.
I'd also love to get video of their Christmas commercial with the Clydesdale clomping through the snow and the pretty music and bells. Love that commercial. Haven't seen it in a few years. I fully intend to get to St. Louis someday to see the Clydesdale ranch.

Whew

Been so busy. I got caught up on some friends' posts.

Now I'm off to a Twins baseball game with my son. They're playing L.A. Time for some $10 brats and stuff that's bad for you. Mmmm mmmm. :)

I'll be back tonight.
