The Twins beat the Angels 4 to 2. It was a good game. It's fun to go there and check them out once in a while. We had good seats in the lower section near the 3rd base line (Season tix from work). It's so much more fun when you can see the action. So we celebrated by having some Twinkies in honor of the Twinkies.
What I didn't like was the advertising for a new ball field for the Twins. I'm so tired of the bitching and whining about new stadiums and ball fields by our two teams, the Twins and the Vikings, who don't seem to win much anyway. Secondly, I don't understand why it's such a big deal. I mean, yes, when it is nice here in Minnesota (the whole 3 days a year it usually turns out), it would be nice to catch a baseball game. But we have The Saints and smaller leagues aplenty. We built the Metrodome that everyone wanted so badly back in the day. I remember quite well, when I was about Ray's age, going to a Twins game at the old Met stadium in Bloomington (it had no roof - removable or otherwise). IT WAS FUCKING COLD AND RAINY. That's what I took away from that experience. Just like tonight, it's freaking 40 degrees out and raining - do you think I'm going to sit and watch the Twins in that kind of weather? Do they really think a lot of people would? Are they on crack??? Sure, the stands would be packed the two days a year that are nice and fall on a home game. But the rest of the year it would suck ass for the spectators. Hence, the reason we built the dome. That place is so nice. Always perfect temperature and dry and smoke-free. People just need something to bitch about. Professional teams need to whine about money and blame their bad playing on artificial turf. Shut the fug up.
As you can see, I don't support such a cause.

Dude - I got a flash version of the 2002 Budweiser Clydesdale commercial that had the horses bowing to ground zero of the World Trade Center after 9-11. Have you all seen that commercial? It's so touching, I cry everytime. I now have a copy of it to keep. I love it. The freaking idiotic thing is, it didn't play on the air long because people complained that horses weren't good enough to show respect to the World Trade Center. WTF?? I don't understand that at all. It's the most touching thing I've seen. If anyone wants to see it, I can upload it to share. You need to have Macromedia Flash installed as a plugin in your Explorer to view it.
I'd also love to get video of their Christmas commercial with the Clydesdale clomping through the snow and the pretty music and bells. Love that commercial. Haven't seen it in a few years. I fully intend to get to St. Louis someday to see the Clydesdale ranch.
